Tea has been grown here since the 1860s, and the combination of altitude (1,600\u20132,000m), cool mist, and rich volcanic soil produces a character found nowhere else.<\/p>\n<p>Ilam Orthodox Black Tea is often called &#8222;Darjeeling&#8217;s twin&#8220;,\u00a0 but that undersells it. Where Darjeeling is delicate and light, Ilam is fuller and more complex: a deep amber cup with malty body, muscatel grape notes, and a long, clean finish.<\/p>\n<h3>How it&#8217;s made<\/h3>\n<p>Orthodox processing means every leaf is hand-rolled, not machine-crushed.
